Ducks Send Pick To Flames For Jackman

The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired right wing Tim Jackman from the Flames in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Jackman, 32, has scored 64 points with 654 penalty minutes (PIM) in 400 career NHL games with Columbus, Phoenix, Los Angeles, the New York Islanders and Calgary.   He had a career year in 2010-11, collecting 23 points with Calgary. The Minot, North Dakota native was one of only four Flames to appear in all 82 games that season.
 
Selected by Columbus in the second round (38th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Jackman made his NHL debut on Dec. 20, 2003 with the Blue Jackets at Minnesota, and went on to score his first career goal on Feb. 27, 2004 at Chicago.

Ducks Trade Holland, Staubitz To Leafs For Blacker, Draft Pick

The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired defensemen Jesse Blacker and third-round and seventh-round selections in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from the Maple Leafs in exchange for center Peter Holland and right wing Brad Staubitz. The third-round pick becomes a second-round selection should certain conditions be met. The 2014 seventh-round pick returns to Anaheim after originally being sent to Toronto with right wing Ryan Lasch in exchange for center David Steckel.

Blacker, 22, has scored 29 points and 110 penalty minutes in 130 career AHL games with the Toronto Marlies. The defenseman has also appeared in 10 Calder Cup Playoff games for the Marlies the last two years.  Blacker has been assigned to Norfolk, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the AHL. 

Holland, 22, appeared in four contests with Anaheim this season, scoring one goal with two PIM. Selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Holland also collected 9 points and 22 PIM in 10 contests for Norfolk (AHL) this season. 

Staubitz, 29, went scoreless with 10 PIM in six games for Norfolk this season. He appeared in 15 games for the Ducks last season, scoring 2 points with 41 PIM.

Kris Versteeg Reunites With Hawks

The Blackhawks acquired forwards Kris Versteeg and Phillppe Lefebvre from the Panthers for forward Jimmy Hayes and defenseman Dylan Olsen on Thursday, according to an ESPN.com report.

The Panthers will pay half of Versteeg's remaining salary, according to Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman. Versteeg is making $4.7M per season and is signed through 2015-16, according to CapGeek.com.
